Reload of Operating System

If you require a reload of the operating system we will first look for a partition on your hard drive or ask if you have any recovery discs. (A partition is a clone of your hard drive when the machine was first created. This is most common in laptops.) If your computer has either a partition or recovery discs the cost of the reload is £40. If you do not have the partition or recovery discs we will be able to reload the operating system but we will do it from scratch. This cost a little more and will be £50.

Please note to ensure we can complete reload we require a Windows operating license key. This should be located on the PC. It is a 25 digit code . If you have any questions in regards to this key please let us know.

We are able to back up important data from the hard drive unless the hard drive has significantly failed. However, we are unable to back up programs. For example if you have Microsoft Office on the computer and have some Word documents. We are able to back up the documents but not Microsoft Office program.  If you have the Microsoft Office discs and licence key then we can install this for you. All you need to do bring it in.

When you receive the computer back please note it will only have the operating system installed with the necessary drivers, a trial of Kaspersky (unless otherwise stated), the latest windows updates (unless otherwise stated) and the Windows key activated. When you get home you will need to install any programs that you would like to have such as MSN messenger, iTunes, or Microsoft Office. If you would like any of these programs installed before it gets to you please let us know and we will be happy to help. You may also need to configure your broadband connection, if you have problems with this then please call and we will try to help over the phone.  Items such as printers will need to be reinstalled
